Stavanger is a city and municipality located in southwest Norway and stated to be most densely populated municipality. In 1969 a boom and economic growth started when oil was found in the North Sea. Stavanger was chosen to take part as the on-shore center for the oil industry in Norway. Stavanger hosts the Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) every other year, which is one the most prestigious conference within the energy sector.
