About Hundvåg
This island offers visitors the beautiful and tranquil nature that Stavanger has to offer. The popular area ‘Lundsneset’, north of the island, is a walking route along the seaside with several recreational areas and historical sights on the way. Hundvåg offers a fun natural park exhibition named ‘Trollskogen’ in the west of the island. This ancient forest acts as the local mini forest with paths, picnic tables, permanent grills and historical tunnels from military times. The perfects destination for enjoying a day out in the sun combined with fun activities. For the food interested, Hundvågen has restaurants that offer local fish and seafood, live-music and a relaxed atmosphere. Hundvåg Geography
This borough includes a number of islands located to the north of Stavanger city center. Hundvåg encompasses the islands Sølyst, Grasholmen, Engøy, Buøy, Bjørnøy, Roaldsøy and Ormøy. In total, around 13,300 people live in the Hundvåg borough. The islands are all connected to the mainland of Stavanger by the Stavanger City Bridge. The main tunnel ‘Ryfast Tunnel’ runs from the city center out on Hundvåg and further up north in the country.
